Below is the study guide for the quiz on Area and Surface Area of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes:
In order to manage the progress of my students through my unit on Ratios and Proportional Reasoning, I gave my students a quiz I created on Ratios, Rates, and Unit Rates. This quiz aligns with Common Core standards: 1. 6.RP.1: Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. 2. 6.RP.2: Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b... and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. This quiz also gives an introduction into Common Core standard: 3. 6.RP.3: Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems... The quiz is attached below along with a detailed answer key.
The second lesson that I created and presented to my students within the unit of Ratios and Proportional relationships allows students to define, compare, and implement ratios, rates, and unit rates. I have attached the lesson below as well as a detailed answer sheet. This lesson aligns with Common Core standards: 6.RP.1: Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. 6.RP.2: Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b not equal to 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship.
This lesson that I found and adapted from an online resource aligns with Common Core standard: 6.RP.1: Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. Below I have attached the lesson organizer that students will use to accomplish the lesson as well as a detailed answer sheet for reference.
On Thursday February 27th, 2014 students summarized and re-visited the concept of dividing fractions. This lesson aligned with the 6th Grade Common Core Standard: 6.NS.1: Interpret and compute quotients of fractions...
On February 12th, I gave my students an assessment that I created to see what they have learned about equivalent fractions and estimating fractions. I have attached the assessment below with detailed answers.
